ParcelVault
Delivering you the future.
Every year millions of packages go undelivered in the UK causing a huge loss for delivery companies and inconvenience for consumers. With the growing popularity of online shopping over the past few years, packages are taking over from standard mail and so the problem increases with it.
My solution for this problem is an automated package drop-off box. Aimed primarily at residents more than business groups, my solution is largely designed to improve existing delivery methods by increasing the safety and security of package deliveries. This saves time and money for both consumer and delivery company.
ParcelVault makes extensive use of RF technology to help securely deliver a package.
In 5 easy steps, ParcelVault provides a secure package delivery:
Step 1: Package tag scanned. (Verification of package)
Step 2: ID card scanned. (ID verification + access to vault)
Step 3: Package goes inside and signature prompt appears for 'signed for' items. A 2D barcode (consumer's signature) appears onscreen.
Step 4: Handheld device used to scan barcode and seal 'proof of delivery'.
As a Product Design Engineering student, I mostly enjoy the illustrating and rendering of design ideas. I enjoy reading, walking and sleeping of course. I am a huge fan of films and would one day hope to have a career in the industry. I also enjoy visiting museums and galleries around the world and my favourite sweets are jelly babies!
