New Door Ways

The Problem
Everyone has encountered a door which jams on the frame or drags along the floor. These are just a few examples of door misalignment, which can result in damage: not only to door leafs, frames and associated hardware but also to essential safety devices such as fire and smoke seals.

The Solution
The door "Hedgehog" is an automatically activated mechanism which is fitted to the door leaf. Through the normal opening and closing motion of a door, the "Hedgehog" extends and self-adjusts to the gap between door and frame, creating a barrier to fire, smoke and acoustics.

My Transition

Having made the successful and highly enjoyable transition from a professional design environment to studying Product Design Engineering, I am now keen to make the return transition to employment with a design engineering position. Applying the considerable knowledge and skills I have gained over the last five years to real-life problems is an exciting prospect.
