No Knotsense
The Problem
Sport fishing is one of the most popular recreational activities worldwide. However, anglers frequently have problems tying knots due to impaired dexterity, poor eyesight, cold weather, and windy conditions. The challenge is threading the fine line through a small hole in the hook and forming and tightening the complex knot.
The Solution
No Knotsense makes the process of tying fishing knots simple and easy. A hook is slotted into the innovative front end and a funnel allows fishing line to be guided through the eye of the hook. A clinch knot is formed by wrapping the line around two rings on the body of the device and then by pulling the hook out of the device the knot is tightened and hook secured. An embedded line cutter conveniently removes any spare line.
My Transition
My passion in life has always been in design, product development and entrepreneurship. From winning awards at Young Engineers for Britain, studying PDE, becoming an inventor on my first patent during a professional internship to signing a deal with a company recently to make this project a commercial reality, I have always enjoyed and thrived in this field. I plan to undertake postgraduate education at Cambridge University in manufacture and management and afterwards set up my own organization specializing in commercial innovation.
